Our client, a Department of Education (DoE), are currently seeking a Business Analyst for an initial contract until 30/06/2025 with possible extension.
This role is needed to bring business analyst expertise to the internal contract management uplift in capability project team. The successful candidate in this role will collaborate with the embedded consultancy resources and work with stakeholders across the Division to analyse the current performance of the organisations with regards to contract management capacity, capability, support identification of mechanisms to uplift capability and work with stakeholders to foster and embed better contract management processes with senior leaders, project managers and contract administrators.

Accountabilities of the role

- Gathering, validating and documenting business and reporting requirements

- Modelling business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements.

- Identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts.
- Creating functional specifications for solutions.
- Estimating costs and identifying business savings.
- Simplifying information and deciphering technical jargon so it is easily understood by the whole team.
- Implementing and testing of solutions.
- Supporting business transition and helping to establish change.
- Coordination of internal stakeholders and oversite of the delivery of an Information and Technology roadmap that will be delivered by a professional services firm.
- The drafting of briefing notes, presentations and memos to gain internal approvals for data, technology and analytics solution that best meet the needs of the department.
- Engagement and collation of department scope of requirements for asset data analytics and reporting
- Research and prepare draft reports, briefing materials and correspondence for submission to senior management.
The successful candidate will have:
- The ability to make decisions around things such as requirement prioritisation, scope, assessing viability of solutions
- Excellent analytical skills - the ability to identify trends, patterns and insights from data.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Confident presentation skills - ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand.
- Problem solving skills.
- Communication skills with effective stakeholder management & conflict resolution skills.
- Requirement gathering is a key part of the role so the ability to ask the right questions and correctly understand the information received is essential
- Excellent documentation and writing skills
- The ability to present findings and recommendations to senior leaders and to manage stakeholder meetings
This daily rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading.
